CANACONA: Canacona Police on Wednesday registered an FIR against two women from Himachal Pradesh following a complaint from the staff of Canacona Community Health Centre (CHC) that the duo, who had accompanied a patient to centre, allegedly abused and assaulted a lady staffer.
Police said that they have registered an offence against Shivani Gupta and Geeta Devi both residing at Agonda under Sections 353, 323 and 504 of IPC for assaulting a lady staffer and for abusing others, who were in the casualty ward at the time of the incident.
Both the women, residents of Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh, had accompanied Tony alias Basil George Anthony, owner of a liquor shop in Agonda, who had sustained injuries in an assault by two unidentified persons on Wednesday morning.
Tony has been shifted to Goa Medical College and Hospital at Bambolim for treatment, Canacona police said.
Police said a case with regards to the assault on Tony has been registered against two unknown persons under Section 324 read with 34 of IPC.
Investigation Officer Dhiraj Desai is investigating both the cases under the supervision of PI Rajendra Prabhudesai.
