PANJIM: The Panjim police registered an FIR against Myron Fernandes and other unidentified accused after the assault victim Sumeet Megeri succumbed to injuries.
It is alleged that Megeri was assaulted by Agasaim-based Myron and his friends outside a restaurant in Miramar on February 19 over frivilous matter. Earlier, the police had registered a non-cognisable case in the matter.
Myron however breathed his last at the hospital on Monday and family members stated the head injuries he sustained due to the brutal assault led to an abscess in his brain which ultimately led to his death.
As the chorus for registering the FIR grew louder, the Panjim police booked Myron Fernandes and the other accused for culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
