FIR likely against MMC

VASCO: The head of the All Goa Municipalities Employees Union Keshav Prabhu met the Mormugao Municipality workers and employees who are on strike for the past three days. He told media that he may lodge an FIR against Mormugao municipality and might request police inquiry over the non-reflection of two installments of workers deducted from their salaries.

On Wednesday after his meeting with the agitated municipality workers, Keshav Prabhu told media “two months installments of the workers which were deducted by the MMC have not reflected anywhere and the workers and the union are unaware as to where the deducted installment has gone and why it is not being shown in the banks.”

“If workers do not get their installments of two months cleared, then the union will have no other option than to lodge an FIR against MMC urging Goa police to inquire in the matter and find out where the money has gone. We will also request police to arrest people involved in this fraud,” Prabhu said.

Commenting further on the issue, Prabhu stated the chief officer, administrator should take up such issues with the Government.

“If these officers can’t run the Mormugao municipality then the municipality can be handed over to the workers union who can efficiently run it and could make profits,” said Prabhu.

Prabhu put forth the workers demand that they should be paid full salary and workers will pay their installments.
