MAPUSA: Two cars were partially gutted when they caught fire after a head on collision near Hotel Green Park, Guirim, on Tuesday at around 7.40 am.
A Volkswagen and a Fiat Linea were speeding in the opposite direction and on reaching near Hotel Green Park, on National Highway 17, they collided head on.
The impact of collision was such that, the cars caught fire. However, the drivers of both the vehicles escaped with minor injuries and treated at the District Hospital, Mapusa.
On being informed, the Mapusa fire services personnel rushed to the spot and put out the fire. The fire personnel estimated that the loss suffered by both the cars was around Rs 25 lakh.
