Fire breaks out at Raigad pharmaceutical company, multiple casualties reported

A major fire at a pharmaceutical company in Maharashtra’s Raigad district resulted in the loss of at least four lives, while up to seven people remain missing. According to authorities on Saturday, seven people have sustained injuries, and a search operation for the missing individuals following the tragic incident was initiated.

The blaze, which reportedly ignited at 11 a.m. on Friday, occurred at Blue Jet Healthcare in the Mahad MIDC area of Raigad. Officials from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) disclosed that the fire’s cause at the pharmaceutical company was attributed to a short circuit, based on preliminary investigations.

Initially, officials mentioned that the fire began subsequent to an explosion within the factory, triggering further combustion and leading to the ignition of chemical barrels, resulting in subsequent explosions.
