PORVORIM: The Mapusa Fire Station held a fire evacuation drill at Ganesh Vidya Mandir in Ganeshpuri recently. Fire personnel evacuated 619 students from the premises and also held a demonstration on fire extinguishers.
Speaking on the occasion, Mapusa Fire Station senior officer Bosco Ferrao stated that the aim of the drill was to demonstrate how to evacuate students in systematic and professional manner in case of a disaster.
He added, “The national fire evacuation drill is held in all parts of the country to educate students about evacuation procedure during a disaster.”
