Fire fighter recovers, joins duty

PONDA: Yoganand Gaude, employee of Kundaim Fire Station, who recovered from COVID infection, joined duty, on Tuesday after 21 days.

He was given a warm welcome by Fire Station Incharge Rajendra Haldankar and 34 fire personnel.

Speaking to Herald, Gaude said, “After developing symptoms and fever I tested my swab and was found COVID positive the next day. I was nervous with the report. However, I received good treatment at Shiroda Hospital. Besides me, there were another three fire personnel. While undergoing treatment there was lot of support from my officials, family and friends that gave me courage to recover from the dreaded infection.” 

He said, “One should not fear and panic in case one is infected with this illness but should be determined to fight it. I was discharged after 10 days, and then I was at home quarantined for seven days. My officials told me to stay home for four more days for fitness reason. Thereafter, I join duty.”

He also added, “For treatment, I was given vitamin tablets, salt water gargle and hot water to drink. With the support of all, I recovered from this illness and now is fit for duty”.
