MARGAO: Fire service personnel on Thursday rescued a senior person and his handicapped son from a flat here around noon.
Sources said the Margao fire brigade received call that smoke was billowing from a second floor flat at Sky Lark building, near Loyola High School, Margao. A fire brigade was rushed to the site and fireman found the door of the flat locked from inside and after breaking open the door, they rescued the 75-year man and his 45-year-old son.
Fire personnel on the scene said one of them had forgotten to put off the gas stove on which an utensil containing food was kept for heating.
