PANJIM: Nitin V Raiker, the deputy director (Fire), South Zone, was has awarded appreciation certificate by South Goa Collector Swapnil Naik, for his excellent performance in South Goa District by saving a number of lives and property worth crores of rupees, especially in a major fire incident occurred at Herald Publication Pvt Ltd, Verna Industrial Estate.
When fire broke out at Herald press, Raiker tirelessly worked for more than 48 hours by camping at the site of the Fire alongwith his team thereby saving lives and property worth crores of rupees.
Raiker holds BSc, LLB and MA. Besides, he has a number of degrees of various professional fire colleges/institution in India as well as abroad. He has completed Divisional Officer Course at National Fire Service College, Nagpur, where he was awarded gold medal for his performance.
He has also completed a two-month course in Urban Search and Rescue Operation, Medical First Responder & Training of Trainers Course, at London Fire College, UK, London.
