PANJIM: The first case of the Delta Plus variant of Coronavirus from Goa has been confirmed through a report received from Genome
Sequencing Lab at Pune, this week.
One of the samples of COVID-19 patients which were sent to the National Centre for Cell Science, Pune for genome sequencing in July this year tested positive for COVID-19.
The patient hailing from South Goa, whose sample was positive for Delta Plus, has recovered, Directorate of Health Services (DHS) officials said, adding that the patient’s close contacts, who had also contracted the COVID-19 infection too recovered.
