The state government has hinted at such a move, citing concerns over young users being exposed to content they may not fully understand. Andhra Minister Nara Lokesh pointed out that pre-teens and teenagers often encounter material that can affect their mental and emotional wellbeing, making regulation necessary. The proposal appears to be inspired by Australia’s model, which limits access to platforms such as TikTok, X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Snapchat for minors.
