PANJIM: The first lecture of the newly established Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chair on leadership, governance and public policy at Goa University was conducted on Wednesday.
The chair, inaugurated in November 2021, has been instituted at the University under the Manohar Parrikar School of Law, Governance and Public policy.
The lecture was delivered by Shrikant Paranjpe, professor of Defence and strategic studies at Savitribai Phule University in the presence of Goa Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai.
In his address he said, “This is for the very first time that a chair in the name of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is established in a University outside Maharashtra.”
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chair at the University envisages research, teaching, workshops and seminars to improve the academic output of the University.
Goa Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai said, “I am extremely glad to be part of the inaugural lecture.”
The Manohar Parrikar School of Law, Governance and Public Policy at Goa University encompass the disciplines of law, public administration, women’s studies, tribal studies, and social work.
