QUEPEM: The continuous rains since yesterday following the onset of monsoons kept Curchorem Fire Services on their toes attending to seven calls from Quepem and Sanguem taluka.
Property worth Rs 40,000 is estimated to be destroyed by these first showers of the season in these two talukas.
Two calls from Cottombi were pertaining to tree fall on houses causing damage estimated at Rs. 40,000.
Besides, the staff had to clear trees that fell across the road at two places in Curchorem Municipal Council jurisdiction.
Tree falls were also reported at Dabhal, Sanvordem, Quepem and Valkini in Sanguem.
