PANJIM: The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) will hold its first term board examination for major subjects for Class XII from December 8 to 18. For Class X, the major subject examinations will begin from December 9 and run till December 17.
In a circular issued, the Board has also informed that the second term public examination for students of Class XII will begin from March 18, 2022 while for Class X it will start from April 4, next year.
The GBSHSE was forced to change the format of examination due to the uncertainty of the COVID-19 situation, wherein it had divided the 2021-22 academic years into two terms with 50 per cent of the syllabus to be covered in each term. The first term examination will be a 90- minute paper with multiple choice questions (MCQs) only.
As per the academic calendar, the first term was supposed to be held from November end, however due to Board elections schedule, the same had to be postponed. Also, with Goa Assembly elections due in February, next year, the second term examination is scheduled in March-April.
The Board has permitted the students, who have cleared the Board exams 2021 but desires to improve the marks to answer both the terms.
As per the schedule, the Class XII term will begin from December 8 with Geography or Accountancy paper, while History and Physics is scheduled on December 9. The language paper will be held on December 10 and 11 respectively, the mathematics and political science paper will be conducted on December 13. Physiology is scheduled on December 14 and on 15, sociology and business studies. Hindi Language on December 16, Banking will be on December 17. The examination will conclude with Economics and Geography paper on December 18.
The vocation stream papers will continue thereafter. The examination will be held across 18 centres.
As far as Class X exams for major subject is concerned, it will commence with science paper on December 9, while third language paper is scheduled on December 10. The students will answer first language paper on December 11 and mathematics and mathematics II, both on December 13. Social science I is scheduled on December 14, Second language paper on December 15 and social science paper II on December 17.
Class X term exams will be held across 31 centres.
While Class XII term exam will be held from 9 am to 11.30am, the Class X examination is scheduled from 10.30 am onwards.
