VASCO: The first woman councillor of Mormugao Municipal Council, Maria Josepha D’Souza was felicitated on her 75th birthday by NCP MLA Churchill Alemao, recently.
The function was organised by the Vasco citizens committee. On the occasion, State NCP President Jose Philip D’Souza was also felicitated by Alemao.
On the occasion, D’Souza recalled of his eldest sister being elected as the first woman councilor.
“She has done a lot of sacrifices for us and imbibed in our family. She was the one who started the political journey for the D’Souza family,” he said.
