PANJIM: Industries Minister Mahadev Naik reiterated that only 8000 truck owners registered with the Mines Department by December 31, 2012, would get financial compensation from the government.
Naik said a meeting would be convened next week to hear the demands of truck owners. He claimed that truckers had to repay loans of Rs 673 crore including Rs 605 crore of principal amounts to banks.
