OLD-GOA: Hundreds of Koli community members (fisher folks) from Vasai are attending the Novena masses of St Francis Xavier, at Old Goa. A Koli community member Valentine Fanda said they have been coming here for last five years. He said that St Francis Xavier is their patron and every year before going for fishing they pray for the intercession of the saint and then cast their nets. They cook, eat and sleep in the church complex and attend the novena and mass till feast of St Xavier.
