MARGAO: A delegation of traditional fishermen from Vasco met with Mormugao Chairperson Leo Rodrigues to discuss their demands for a net bending shed, fishing ramp, boat repairs yard and office premises for fish agentsat Khareawado Jetty.
The delegation, headed by Custodio D’Souza, had previously submitted their requests to Fisheries Minister Nilkanth Halarnkar during his visit to the area last month. D’Souza expressed frustration that their demands had not been addressed by the government.
Rodrigues told the delegation to identify a suitable plot of land for the shed, which they have done. The municipality will now consider their demands.
