PANJIM: A fisherman who was bleeding from the mouth onboard a fishing boat and was brought back to shore, died in hospital on Tuesday morning.
According to a statement issued by Drishti Lifesaving, the incident occurred at Cavelossim beach when the 21-year-old fisherman hailing from Jharkhand was on a fishing boat about 500 meters out at sea.
The owner of the fishing boat informed about the incident after which lifeguard Sarvesh Goankar set off on a Jet Ski from Mobor beach to reach the spot and secured the victim, bringing him safely back to the shore.
The victim was instantly rushed to Rajagiri Victor Hospital, Margao for treatment, but he died 15 minutes after being admitted.
