On Wednesday, afternoon some fishermen from Marivel village near Dona Paula were initially barred from going into the sea for fishing due to the presence of Nu-Shi Nalini vessel just off the village.
An official from the Deputy Collector’s office, which is montoring the situation, intervened when some locals began to prepare to go out into the seat to fish.
Initially the official attempted to stop the fishermen from going out in the sea, but after consulting his higher ups, he gave them conditional permission to go in the sea and fish, but away from the vessel.
He warned them not to venture near the grounded vessel, which the fisherfolk agreed and went to the sea.
