PANJIM: A total of five agencies have bid for tourism department’s beach safety, water patrol and lifeguard service by Friday the last date for receipt of on-line bids in response to the fresh tenders initiated last month.
Drishti Special Response Services (DSRS), the current service providers, whose contract has been extended since June 15 this year, are strong contenders.
Others on the list include Group 4, Surface Codes- Mumbai, BVG – Bangalore and Infotech.
A pre-bid conference is scheduled on October 23 following which the tourism department will hope to wind up the entire exercise by this month end. If one recalls, this is the second time bids have been invited for beach safety and water patrol services after the first attempt had to be scrapped.
