MARGAO: Labour Minister Avertano Furtado on Wednesday said five bodies, believed to be of security guards, who died in the Canacona building tragedy, are still lying in the Hospicio morgue awaiting identification.
The minister visited Hospicio this morning and inquired with the condition of the injured undergoing treatment in the hospital. He later told the media that most of the injured are recovering and will be discharged soon. “Five of the injured admitted at Hospicio are being discharged today”, he said, while saying that bodies of three of the dead workers were sent to Jharkhand on Wednesday.
“The three bodies of the workers from Jharkhand have been sent to their native place after their identification. Around
five bodies are still lying in the Hospicio mortuary”, he said, adding that these
will be handed over to their relatives
after identification.
