PONDA: Five cows and two calves died when Bolero Jeep ran over them at Borim on Tuesday morning at 4 o’clock. An eighth bovine was injured in the accident.
The bodies of the cattle were later disposed off by authorities. Ponda police conducted panchanama of the scene of accident.
The injured animal was taken for treatment by a team of animal lovers.
According to sources, the Bolero Jeep from Durbhat was proceeding to Margao wholesale fish market for collecting fish. Locals expressed anguish at the death of the seven bovines.
