MARGAO: The Judicial Magistrate First Class court, Margao judge, Puja Kavlekar, granted conditional bail to accused Assim Sur, Vijay Sarkar, Subash Chandra Sarkar and Kamlesh Haldar arrested by the Maina-Curtorim police on November 17 on charges of rioting, assault, causing grievous injuries, under sections 143, 144, 147, 148, 447, 326 read with 149 of IPC.
Adv Prashant Borkar appeared on behalf of the four arrested accused who were in custody.
The judge directed that the four accused be released on individual bail bond of Rs 10,000 with like amount in surety and directed them to report to the Maina-Curtorim police for five consecutive days after release.
The four accused were arrested on a complaint filed by Ashok Kumar, hailing from Uttar Pradesh and working at Sua Industry, St Jose
de Areal. The complaint stated that at 8.30 pm on November 17 near Tach Force Industry, his brother Satiyo Prakash was assaulted with iron rod and as a result he had suffered grievous injuries to his head, chest and hand and was admitted to Hospicio, Margao.
