CURCHOREM: The fixing of charges for Fuel and Power Purchase Cost Adjustment (FPPCA) is the job of Joint Electrical Regulation Commission (JERC) and not by the State government,” informed Power Minister Nilesh Cabral on Saturday.
Reacting to the increase in FPPCA charges, Cabral said that increase or decrease of rate is dependent on the cost of fuel which is used to generate the electricity.
“It increases and sometimes even decreases and this time it is increased only by 3 paisa per unit and how it is portrayed by the media is not correct,” said Cabral adding that it is increased only 3 paisa from previous rate and accordingly the customers will get the bills.
