Floral tributes paid to Bandodkar on death anniversary

PONDA:  The death anniversary of Goa’s first Chief Minister Dayanand ‘Bahusaheb’ Bandodkar was observed at two functions held in Ponda.
At the first function held at Farmagudi on Monday, Art and Culture Minster Govind Gaude along with Ponda MLA Ravi Naik paid rich tributes to Bandodkar. 
Naik recalled how the former CM was dedicated to providing education to Bahujans who he said were deprived of the same under the Portuguese rule.
 Gaude said Bandodkar has inspired them to work for the downtrodden and hailed his visionary contribution towards education and leading Goa to the path of development. 
“He is an inspiration for Bahujans. It is because of Bahu that schools are established all over Goa and that we are educated.  It is our duty to fulfill his dream and uplift Bahujans in Goa,” said Gaude.  
He is inspiring name for Bahujans. It is because of Bahu established schools all over Goa, We are educated. It is our duty to fulfill Bhau’s dream to uplift the Bahujans in Goa.  Bhau made it ideal for us to live with self respect,” the minister added. 
In the other function on the same day, MGP MLA Sudin Dhavalikar and President Deepak Dhavalikar offered a floral tribute to a statue of Bandodkar at Farmagudi.  Sudin hailed the policies of the first CM for helping people of Goa and empowering them with the power of education.
