MARGAO: The Flying Squad again visited Guirdolim in Cuncolim constituency to trace the person who carried out the illegal hill cutting at Cantem as the squad has received the complaint but without naming the person who is carrying out the illegality.
Deputy Sarpanch of Guirdolim Franky Rodrigues explained that there was a slight problem in the matter that the area where the hill cutting is being carried out is actually in Macasana Panchayat but Guirdolim Panchayat has jurisdiction over it.
One Martina Gonsalves from Guirdolim has apparently complained to the Flying Squad about the illegal hill cutting. A visit to the site revealed that huge portions of the hill have been cut and the dislodged mud is dumped in a property lower in the area. What is surprising is that two houses are erected in the area where more plots are being developed and both the houses have electricity connection.
