MARGAO: The Leader of Opposition (LoP) Yuri Alemao urged the State government to provide time-bound solutions to the issues faced by the farmers’ and added that he would work towards achieving that goal.
“It is necessary to provide assistance to the farmers so that they feel ease of doing farming. If farmers are not protected and encouraged, people will starve. I request the government authorities to ensure that farmers do not face hardships,” said Alemao.
In his efforts to help farmers in Cuncolim constituency, Alemao, who is also the local MLA, conducted site inspections of canals and water bodies with Water Resource Department (WRD) engineers and Zonal Agriculture Officers (ZAOs) and took stock of the ongoing works of cleaning and maintenance of canals in the villages of Chandor, Guirdolim, Macazana and Paroda.
He added that he will be conducting periodic inspections to review the progress of the ongoing works.
