Fomento to set up sieve at own cost

Fomento Group has agreed to set up a sieve at Sonsodo dumping site at its own cost to facilitate segregation of plastic and other waste.
In another development, the PWD has accorded it sanction to the MMC proposal to cover the Sonsodo dump yard with a tarpaulin costing Rs 17 lakh.
MMC Chairperson Savio Coutinho told Herald that Fomento has agreed to the request of the Civic body to set up the sieve at Sonsodo at their own cost.
He said the company has already placed orders for the sieve which is likely to be erected at the dumping site by May end.
In the meantime, Coutinho said the PWD has given the technical and financial sanction to cover the Sonsodo site with tarpaulin costing Rs 17 lakh. He said the PWD has also given the approval for a drainage system at Sonsodo at a cost of Rs 6 lakh.
