MARGAO: The Principal District and Sessions Judge Bharat Deshpande while granting Fomento Green’s prayer that they be not be dispossessed of Sonsoddo till their payments are made, also directed Fomento Green to accept the municipal solid waste till August 31.
It may be recalled that Fomento Green had served a final termination notice on Margao Municipal Council on June 10, 2019 that it would terminate the agreement with MMC to manage their solid waste from August 9, 2019.
Fomento Green moved the District Court with a prayer that they should not be dispossessed from Sonsoddo till MMC pays them Rs 14.06 crore and that they should not be given any solid waste from August 9, 2019.
The Principal Sessions Judge had earlier on August 3, 2019 pronounced an interim order that Fomento Green will not be dispossessed till the payment is made.
However, when the matter came up for hearing on Friday, the judge directed the two parties to resolve their differences on the quantum of amount payable as soon as possible.
The judge also directed Fomento Green to accept the municipal waste till August 31 on which date the next hearing is fixed and also asked them to try and settle the matter so that the payment can also be made on that date.
