VALPOI: Since last 16 days the Sanquelim Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce is witnessing black out due to no power supply.
The students are facing the hardship while learning, says college staff. “Two days back we celebrated the Teacher’s Day in the dark as there is no power supply in our college. The whole function was held in the dark hall,” said a student.
The college principal has already informed the Electricity Department officials over the matter. Soon, the Electricity Department officials visited the college and have checked all the electricity connections.
“They have told the principal that it will take another six days to get the proper power supply and right now they are working on to fix the problem. The exact problem of power supply and fault is not yet found,” said another student.
“Today I held a meeting with the college principal, staff and the officials from GSIDC, Electricity Department and PWD. In next eight days, all the problems of the college will be solved, said Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant.
