SANGUEM: The search operation of officers attached to Sanguem Range Forest Office at the residence of RTI activist Francisco Carvalho returns disappointment as they failed to get any clue pertaining to killing of wild animals and storage of wild animals’ meat by Carvalho.
The team led by RFO Vikramaditya Dessai and police swamped down at the Carvalho’s residence armed with search warrant after a complaint was lodged against him for allegedly being involved in killing of wild animals and storing wild animals meat at his residence for sale.
Carvalho welcomed the team with open hands though he was unaware of the team’s purpose of this sudden visit.
However, on being the team revealed their purpose of visit, Carvalho appreciated their efforts and assisted them in conducting the search operations.
Claiming the act resorted by the Forest Department to be shameful for the department, Carvalho claimed that prior to conducting such search operations, the Department should investigate the matter thoroughly.
