Forest officials have no answer on falling trees at Mollem

PONDA: Forest officials, who organized a workshop for media at Bondla Wild Life Sanctuary, in pursuit to spread awareness and sensitise society on coexistence of human and wild animals, failed to give any respite when pressed the pertinent problem of increasing falling of trees at Mollem. 

The officials, tried to emphasise on the aftereffects of rapid development on forest. The officials admitted the man and animal conflict are there in Goa as some forest area with human settlement were declared wild life areas however there are effort by Government to settle this issues. However, media just queries seemed out of syllabus for them. 

The officials even didn’t have a convincing reply when asked about farmer’s compensation for their crop damage cause by the wild animals.  

The officials further assured to think over media suggestions on growing fruit orchard in the forest area to avoid wild animals leaving forest in search of food. 

The Forest officials DCF A Jabestin, Dr. Lovlin Vaaz, Forest Official and Bondla Zoo Manager Paresh Parab, Dr. Gauri Mallapur guided the media on various activities taken by them to protect wild life in Goa.
