PONDA: Deputy Conservator Forest (DCF) Office at Ponda on Friday, paid compensatory amount of Rs 50,000 to Bethora woman Kusum Shiva Gaonkar, who was injured by a bison when she was working in her vegetable field in the forest area at border of Bethora Panchayat.
According to (DCF) Santosh Fadte, in July when a bison injured the woman, forest personnel rushed for her rescue and shifted the woman to hospital for treatment.
She had endured major injuries and took three months to recover. As per policy Forest Department prepared estimate cost of her treatment and sent proposal to government.
She was paid Rs 50,000 as cost of her treatment she had borne also looking at fact that she was unemployed for four month due to injury.
