PORVORIM: Porvorim police has filed a charge sheet before the JMFC at Mapusa indicting three persons, including a panchayat clerk and a former panch, in connection with an illegal house in Salvador-do-Mundo.
Porvorim police had arrested the office clerk, Ritesh Gadkar, earlier in June 2011 on charges of forgery to grant permission to a person to build an illegal house in the village.
Gadkar and then panch Bhagwant Naik had framed incorrect documents by forging the inward register of the VP. He was arrested under Section 167 and Section 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating) of the Indian Penal Code.
Charges have also been framed against Naik and one Mahadev Shirodkar, who has been accused of illegally constructing the house.
