PANJIM: The State government has ordered the suspension of the then Joint Mamlatdar (II) of Bardez, Ranjeet Salgaonkar, for his alleged involvement in the Serula Comunidade scam. The order, issued by Director (Vigilance) Sanjeev Gauns Dessai, also directs Salgaonkar to report to the Department of Personnel during his suspension period.
“Disciplinary proceedings against Salgaonkar, the then Joint Mamlatdar (II), Bardez, is contemplated. He is placed under suspension. During the period that this order shall remain in force, the headquarters of Salgaonkar shall be the Department of Personnel, Secretariat, Porvorim and he shall not leave the headquarters without obtaining the previous permission of the Competent Authority,” the order states.
Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation managing director Srinet Kotwale was asked by the government to resume investigations into the multi-crore scam. Kotwale had earlier requested the government to relieve him from the inquiry following his transfer from the Home Department.
