Former Chief Minister Digambar Kamat has questioned the stoppage of Mobile Fish Stall van scheme. He has demanded that there is a need to check and inspection on the working of these vans to avoid the failure of meeting the purpose of the scheme.
Kamat said that there is a need to check whether the vendors are giving fish at affordable costs.
Navelim MLA Ulhas Tuenkar said that several vans have vanished.
Fisheries Minister Nilkanth Halarnkar while replying to the question said, “We had got 5 fish vending vans in 2017-18 and 4 in 2018-19, a total of 9 vans. But, since it was a Central scheme the vans stopped after the scheme was stopped”.
He assured of reviving the scheme after consulting with the Central Government.
