MARGAO: Carl Vaz the former Mormugao Congress MLA and chairman of Goa Rehabilitation Board joined Aam Aadmi Party, on Thursday. He was inducted by AAP National Secretary Pankaj Gupta by making him wear an AAP cap.
Gupta said that AAP was getting good response as more and more activists from other parties were joining the party.
After joining AAP, Carl Vaz said, “I thank the Aam Aadmi Party for inducting me into its fold and if the party thinks that I am capable. I won’t shy away from contesting the election.”
“Politics is one place where we should be passionate about and it’s a very tough journey. I had a tough time to be non-corrupt in my stint,” he said.
Ridiculing the local parties, Carl said, “Regional parties come up and later and die out.”
On the political wave in Goa, Gupta said, “Lots of commotions are happening in Goa. There was a survey according to which even in North we are gaining traction. The chief minister’s statement that we will divide Congress votes shows their thinking process that they have appeal only in a particular part of community and not all which AAP has.”
