Former Journalist, writer, history
researcher, Ex-President of Margao Municipal Council Valmiki Faleiro passed away on
Thursday due to a massive cardiac arrest.
Condolences poured from all over Goa to bid
adieu to Faleiro. Faleiro who started as a journalist in the West Coast Time
worked in several other news dailies. He was the President of the MMC during
1985 to 1987. Soon Faleiro started writing books and his first book ‘Patriotism
in Action’ was published in 2010.
Faleiro then went on to write Espirito
Santo Church-1565-2015 book popularly recognised as “Soaring Spirit”. Faleiro
recently published a book Goa, 1961 The complete story of Nationalism and
Integration.
Valmiki Faleiro will always be remembered as
an outstanding researcher, journalist, writer, historian and thinker of Goa.
