PANJIM: In the wake rising COVID-19 cases in Mangor Hill, a containment zone; former Revenue Minister Rohan Khaunte has demanded immediate resealing of the State borders.
Addressing a press conference in the capital on Wednesday, Khaunte said that government needs to identify corona hotspots and contaminated zones to isolate from other areas in the State.
“Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is attempting to downplay the spread of virus claiming it to be local transmission, but in reality it is a community transmission. The borders should be sealed again so that there is no further of the infection,” he demanded.
He accused the CM of wrong policies and slammed his “habit” of imitating SOPs of the Centre for Goa. “All this has pushed the State to this stage, where we have travelled from Green Zone to Red Zone,” he alleged.
