MARGAO: Former Benaulim MLA Churchill Alemao has declared his support for the BJP candidate in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Goa. Speaking at a press conference, Alemao stated that he has no interest in contesting the election but believes that the BJP will win both seats as they deserve it and will stay in power for the next 15 years.
Alemao also criticised the current Member of Parliament, saying that he could not see any development in South Goa despite receiving crore of rupees in MPLAD grants. He praised the BJP government for the major developmental works done under the leadership of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and former Chief Minister late Manohar Parrikar.
The former MLA took a dig at Benaulim MLA Venzy Viegas, claiming that the development in the constituency was done by him and there is nothing new to be witnessed. He further stated that people across Goa have urged him to contest the election, but he has no interest. “Congress party has lost the plot and the party is going to finish very soon. Congress is not in existence in Goa in any sense. It is because of the BJP government Goa is witnessing huge and major developmental works”, said Alemao.
Alemao praised the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and claimed that people in the country are witnessing peace under his leadership.
