pernem: The funeral of former Pernem MLA Jitendra Raghuraj Deshprabhu was held in a simple manner at their family crematorium on Wednesday. The firebrand leader and strong orator, passed away on Tuesday evening at GMC, Bambolim due to pneumonia.
His brother, Devendra Deshprabhu performed the last rites by lighting the funeral pyre.
(Late) Jitendra Deshprabhu’s wife, Rupa, his son, brother, and other relatives attended the funeral.
Due to the enforcement of section 144, aside from family and close relatives, only few people were allowed to pay their last respects to the mortal remains of the former MLA.
