MARGAO: Deputy Chief Minister of Goa Vijai Sardesai has announced the laying of foundation stone for the much awaited kabrastan for Margao on his birthday (June 4). He was speaking at the Iftar party at the Bilal Masjid in Chandrawado, Fatorda.
While wishing everyone Ramzan Mubarak, Vijai said that the foundation stone for the kabrastan will be laid soon and the work of the same will begin within a month after laying the stone.
“Many spoke about this for several years. It is time to do it now. This is my commitment”, said Vijai.
Vijai further said “During the holy month of Ramzan we have to think over whether the government is taking Muslims ahead. We have to observe that by being in this government whether we are keeping our word we gave to the Muslims or not.
Vijai also urged the gathering of Muslim brethren to stand with the people who will take them forward. “We should not care for what happens in India, we have to think about ourselves and that’s our new theory,” said Goa Forward President Vijai.
“Kurbani, admissions for Muslim students, we will complete all the assurances”, said Vijai.
He urged people to participate in the process of society building.
Ravindra Bhavan Chairman Prashant Naik said, “Sometimes we have to give trouble to the body to make sure we develop the strength to take on any trouble. Fasting during Ramzan gives strength to the people”, said Prashant.
