Foundation stone laid for Balika Kalyan Ashram

PONDA: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant laid foundation stone for new Balika Kalyan Ashram of Matruchaya, at Talavalim, on Saturday.

While speaking to the media persons Chief Minister said, “This new building for Balika(girls) Ashram is being built by Matruchaya Trust as old one at Dhavali was falling short to meet the requirement.” 

He said, “The government will always provide cooperation to Matruchaya Trust whenever it is needed.”  

Also presence on the occasion were Chairman of Matruchaya Shrinivas Dempo, VHP leader Adv Alok Kumar, Madukar Dikshit, Mohan Kamat, Nima Kamat, Shirish Ameshekar, Sagar Sakordekar, Anup Keni,  Sarpanch Dilesh Gaonkar, Subash Bhosle. 

Chairman of Matruchaya Trust Dempo said, “The new ashram would provide modern facilities to girls, which is needed for their growth and development.” 

He urged the Goans to continue their support to the activities of Matruchaya Trust.

It may be recalled that during the past many decades the Matruchaya Trust at Dhavali has been working for the welfare of the orphans and destitute.
