Four arrested for forcing minor girl into prostitution

VASCO: Four persons including two men and two women were arrested by the Vasco police for alleged involvement in forcing a minor girl into the commercial sexual activities. 
All the four persons arrested namely Shilpa Rathod, aged 19, Patri alias Parshuram Patkar (26) from Chicalim, Kabbu alias Ismail Sheikh (30) from Baina and Laxmi Rathod were booked under Section 4,8,12 of POCSO Act, Section 3,4,5,and 7 of Immoral Trafficking Prevention Act, Section 370 Trafficking of Minor, 376 for Rape; 506 (II) Threat to Life and Section 8 of Goa Children’s Act. 
In a press briefing, DySP Sawant said that the Vasco police were successful in nabbing the four persons allegedly involved in such heinous activity. 
The DySP said, “A Mormugao educational institution made a complaint to Vasco Police Station stating that a minor girl aged 15 was irregular for the classes and her walking style had changed. Class teacher noticed this and informed her mother.
 “The mother was also advised to take her daughter to a doctor for check up. The educational institution asked their counsellor to give the minor girl counselling and then I was informed about the issue,” DySP Sawant said.
The girl after her recovery, resumed her counselling sessions and narrated about the incidents which happened to her to me,” DySP Sawant added. “Police are investigating and we are also going to find out the people who have exploited the minor girl physically,” DySP Sawant stated.
