PANJIM: The Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) and the PWD have now issued show cause notices to four contractors for delaying the works of Smart City Mission in the capital city.
Two show cause notices have been issued to M/s Bagkiya Constructions Pvt Ltd, for delaying the work of Smart City Headquarters at old Patto and for delaying 24×7 water supply related work.
Show cause notices have been issued to Bangalore- based Sky Group which had taken up work of GIS based Master Plan for Panjim under AMRUT Mission; Prasad Sheth from Nuvem, who was assigned the task of setting up laboratory at Altinho and Hyderabad-based NAR Infra Pvt Ltd responsible for construction of sump and other water supply related works.
IPSCDL Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Sanjit Rodrigues said that in the first round, five show notices have been issued to the contractors asking them to show cause as to why the delays have taken place and what are the steps they would be taking to make good for the timeline deficit, which is being experienced.
They have been asked to reply to show cause notices within next seven to 10 day after which the IPSCDL will analyse their replies and take further steps accordingly.
He warned that the government will not fall short of terminating their contract and taking new contractors on board if the need be. He said that the IPSCDL may recommend blacklisting of contractors if found that they have taken advantage of the system.
