PORVORIM: A resident of Verla-Canca in Bardez and his friends were cheated to the tune of Rs 10.23 lakh after they were promised employment abroad by four persons.
According to Mapusa Police, Robert Pinto from Verla complained that the four accused had promised him and his friends employment abroad and had collected Rs 10.23 lakh from them.
The complainant further stated that the accused had failed to provide employment or return the money, thereby cheating them of the Rs 10.23 lakh. PSI P Fadte is investigating the case.
