Four injured as bus rams against stationary generator

Four passengers, including two women and driver, were injured when the bus they were travelling in rammed against a generator that was attached to a stationary tempo near Meta Copper, Sancoale, on Tuesday at about 4.30 pm.
Santana Caitano Fernandes (33) from Sindole-Sancoale and Pushpa Naik (39) from Velsao were admitted in Hospicio, while Ramvilas Vishvakaram (45) from Zuarinagar and the bus driver were discharged later.
The mini bus (GA-06-T-1675) carrying around 35 passengers had left Titan-Birla and was proceeding towards Vasco when the accident occurred.
According to eye witness, the bus rammed against a generator that was attached to a stationary tempo alongside the highway. The impact of the accident was such that the bus and generator were dragged nearly 10 mtrs from the site.
Verna Police PI Jivda Dalvi said four persons, including the bus driver, have sustained injuries.
“Two people were discharged later in the evening, while the other passengers escaped unhurt. We have registered an offence against the bus driver and will ensure that his license is cancelled,” informed PI Dalvi.
