MARGAO: Fisheries Minister Avertano Furtado on Saturday launched four-laning of the Davorlim-Sao Jose de Areal road at a cost of around Rs six crore, even as the Navelim MLA has promised a host of projects in Davorlim village. The four-laning of the Davorlim-Sao Jose de Areal road was a long standing demand of the people and motorists alike over the years. Work on the road is expected to be completed within a year’s time.
Speaking to the media after the launching, Avertano said he has taken a number of projects in Davorlim village and the same will fall in place in the near future. “The four-laning of the Davorlim road was a long standing demand of the people. It will help streamline the traffic flow”, he said.
Avertano said a host of projects, including a fly over for two-wheelers over
the railway crossing, community hall, health centre have been planned in Davorlim village. PWD Contractor Deepak Desai said land for the road widening stands already acquired.
