CANACONA: Four persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Canacona on Saturday, taking the tally to 15 cases in the taluka.
Canacona Community Health Centre (CHC) health officer Dr Vandana Desai said, “Two male persons working in Verna Industrial Estate, a family member of one of the patients and a health care worker working in a hospital out of Canacona tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday taking the tally of COVID-19 cases to 15 in the taluka.”
“Two male persons working in Verna Industrial Estate and a brother of one of them had visited the CHC to allow our staff to collect their swabs for testing on Friday, as one of their colleagues was tested positive for COVID-19. Their result came positive on Saturday afternoon,” Dr Desai informed.
“All four COVID-19 positive patients have been admitted to COVID-19 care centre as they are asymptomatic,” Dr Desai added.
With the detection of four cases, the tally of coronavirus cases in Canacona is 15. However, with five recoveries, the number of active cases now stands at 10.
Of the four new cases, three persons are in their thirties and one in his forties. The CHC has collected swab samples of their family members and sent the same to Hospicio for testing, CHC sources informed.
